Highly educated professionals are not usually associated with employment issues.
Yet, this exact group is facing huge challenges. Highly educated professionals are often facing them. Yet, increasingly, they are functioning in highly demanding working conditions, impacting long-term company performance on all levels and often taking a toll on employee health . As a consequence, sooner or later, employer and employee are faced with difficult choices and ‘lose-lose’ situations.
After becoming a mother, I was faced with a difficult dilemma. Keep on working at my high pace, high stress job (my employer demanding my presence for many hours per week; consequently requiring that my child spent endless hours in day care) or simply give up. I chose the latter; with pain in my heart. And potentially dire consequences for my career.
Thinking Healthy was born.
